This feature is available since 2.6.2 version.

In some cases it is needed to supplement the status name of a process with additional information, such as whether oppositions were received, or whether any license has been recorded, or any other additional info further clarifying the process status.

In order to allow a configurable text for this, a new configuration parameter “MailMerge field for sub-status” was added in the “Process” group of parameters in Designer. When this is used, IPAS will evaluate such MailMerge field and append the result (between brackets) to the status name of the process in question.

This is a very powerful tool, and all you have to do is to code a MailMerge field (using "action" as the seed, but in fact the only components passed by IPAS are PROC_TYP and PROC_NBR identifying the process, and the third component of the key to thje "action", i.e. ACTION_NBR, is passed as NULL).

The SQL code could call a function encapsulating as much complexity as you wish, for example if there are unsolved assignments maybe you could also want to show also that, etc.

Displaying sub-status along with file status

In some cases it is needed to supplement the status name of a process with additional information, such as whether oppositions were received, or whether any license has been recorded, or any other additional info further clarifying the process status agent as shown in below.

This feature can be configured by defining MailMerge output field from configuration.

Steps required in configuration

The following steps are required to configure MailMerge outfield from Ipas Designer.

  1. Open Ipas Designer, create new output field under Ouput field node of OutputField view as shown in below image.
  2. Under Output SQL statements, create new sql statement. Add ‘MailMerge’ under ‘Usage of this SQL Statements’ and previously created output field under ‘Output fields used by this SQL statement’ as shown in below image.
  3. Now, write SQL statement that retrieve sub-status of user document by clicking on the input icon of SQL statement text as shown in below images.
  4. Now, newly created output field needs to be configured to display the additional information along with status under ConfigParam view as below:

Creating SQL Statement

We can write complex SQL statement and retrieve the additional information that is to be displayed along with file status. We should make sure that query is correct and provided parameter values (:GVstrPROC_TYP, :GVnPROC_NBR) in the SQL statement are available in IPAS.
