The term "patent" covers utility models and Supplementary Protection Cer= tificates (SPCs). Offices which issue design patents should report their de= sign patent information activities in their Annual Technical Reports on Ind= ustrial Design Information Activities.
In comparison with the year 2005, there were changes in patent and utili=
ty model activities as follows: in 2006, 836 patent applications (830 in 20=
05), 1,082 utility model applications (1,185 in 2005) and 109 PCT internati=
onal applications (145 in 2005) were filed; 1,324 patents were granted (1,5=
51 in 2005) and 1,021 utility models (1,085 in 2005) were registered. As re=
gards the representation of individual segments most of patent applications=
concerned transporting, organic chemistry, shaping metal, textile and flex=
ible materials, electricity, inorganic chemistry, building. Regarding utili=
ty model applications, most of them came from the sectors of building, tran=
sporting, conveying and storing, lighting and heating.

In addition to paper form of applications, e-filing and filing application=
via e-mail with the electronic signature, the Office expands possibilities=
for different kinds of e-requests. After registration, the user can access=
interactive application forms and other functions. After e-filing the appl=
icant receives confirmation e-mail. Providing that a design is already regi=
stered, the public can also search the steps of the application administrat=
ive procedure as it is recorded in administrative procedure database.
Greater safety is provided by SSL.
Security collection of the data changes executes twice a weak. Full back u=
p of data executes weekly. Term of validity for one back up is 4 weeks.

replace two regionally separated systems with different conceptions, desig=
ned separately for patents and utility models and separately for trademarks=
. The system is equipped with electronic archiving of incoming and outgoing=
files. The system makes it possible to receive data of European patents, a=
nd processes data of proceedings for the database and for publishing in the=
Office Bulletin.
Search systems on CD-ROM and Internet were used. Reprographic services w=
ere assured in the public reading room.
Patent searches for the public were carried out in database centers: STN I=

1. | Classification is=
allotting one or more classification symbols (e.g., IPC symbols) to a pate=
nt application, either before or during search and examination, which symbo=
ls are then published with the patent application.
|
2. | Preclassification=
is allotting an initial broad classification symbol (e.g., IPC class or su=
bclass, or administrative unit) to a patent application, using human or aut=

|
3. | Reclassification =
is the reconsideration and usually the replacement of one or more previousl=
y allotted classification symbols to a patent document, following a revisio=
n and the entry into force of a new version of the Classification system (e=
.g., the IPC). The new symbols are available on patent databases. &= nbsp; |
