Compared to 2015, there were changes in industrial design activities in 2016 as follows:

Trends or areas experiencing rapid changes with respect to the previous year
Since 2007, progression of the number of industrial design applications has a sinusoidal character with minimum of 305 (2008) to maximum of 457 (2012). The number of design patterns contained in these applications has risen again after a small drop in 2015. The chart seems to have a sinusoidal character with period of 3 years with average values about 1200 design patterns altogether per year. Concerning amount of registered industrial designs, there is a two-year decrease – approximately 12 % compared to 2015. On the other hand, number of designs contained in registrations has increased by 4 % (up to 1072 design patterns altogether per year), compared to 2015. previous year; trends or areas experiencing rapid changes
