I. Evolution of registration activities
During the year 2006, The Patent section of Agency on Standardization, Metrology and Patents received 3640 applications for registration of trade and service marks. Of the total number of applications 1776 were field under the national procedure and 1864 under the international one (Madrid Agreement).
In the application filed under the International procedure the most frequent were designated the following classes of the international Classification of Goods and Services: cl. 05-370 applications, cl. 25-122 applications, cl. 30-311 applications, cl. 35 682 applications.
55 application has been rejected the national procedure and 7 application of Madrid System.
In 2005 there were issued 1170 certificates of trademark registration. The national owner obtained 559 certificates, and the foreign ones 611.
In 2005 there were issued 565 certificates for renewal, also were registered 141 transfers of authority and 19 license agreement.
II. Matters concerning the generation, reproduction, and distribution of secondary sources of trademark information, i.e., trademark gazettes
The main types of announcements of the Office in the field of trademark information are:

The examiner search files are the following:
At the disposal of examiners, these are foreign databases on CD-ROM (ROMARIN).Trademark Gazettes from WIPO and via the Internet the Madrid Express Database data collection hosted by WIPO.
Both the examiners search files and documentation at the library are updated on a regular basis.
V. Activities in the field of computerized trademark search systems
The management of the trademark application is based on the National Trademark search database procedure program, developed by WIPO TRADE MARK SYSTEM IPAS. Database is based on Internet Server Platform.
All examiners have access to the Internet at their desks.
