In order to achieve 1.(1)a “Realization of an environment where Chinese and Korean documents can be searched in Japanese,” the JPO built “a Chinese and Korean Gazette Tramslation Translation and Search System” which is capable of searching and displaying machine translated full-text data (machine translation into Japanese) of Chinese/Korean patent / utility model documents and made it available to examiners and the general users in January 2015.  For more information about this, see 3.(4)(a-3).

 Search Search for the documents sent to the applicants by the JPO and the documents sent by applicants from July 2003 onwards have become possible by using document numbers. In addition, some documents used within the JPO have also become possible to retrieve.

(4) Reclassification is the reconsideration and usually the replacement of one or more previously allotted classification symbols to a patent document, following a revision and the entry into force of a new version of the Classification system (e.g., the IPC). The new symbols are available on patent databases.
