In January 2015 CIPO provided free training to the National Institute of Industrial Property of Chile (INAPI). Two INAPI examiners travelled traveled to CIPO to obtain patent search and examination training in support of their being an International Searching and Preliminary Examination Authority (ISA/IPEA).  In September 2015 CIPO provided distance learning, via a webinar, on the STN database to over 30 examiners from INAPI.  In the same month CIPO held its inaugural “Canadian Patent Law and Examination Workshop (CPLEW)”.  Five examiners attended the workshop: two examiners from the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ), two from the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) and one from INAPI.
