The Patent Act, 2016 has been drafted complying the WIPO standards and it is in final stage for enactment. After completing the new Patents Law we can take strategy to implement the standard.

Our Patent Gazette includes a name index, which on the whole matches the requirements of ST.20. Regarding the preface containing rules followed in creating and presenting the name index, our gazette is perhaps not as comprehensive as it could be.

The publication of separate name indexes is discontinued by EAPO as soon as this fuctionality is extensively covered by search capabilities of EAPO publication server and EAPATIS search and retrieval system. Nevertheless, the page-based version of EAPO patent gazette published electronically as single PDF file does contain name indexes that are in line with WIPO Standard ST.20.
