Como lo indica la norma ST.2, las formas utilizadas en el IMPI, México para la designación de fechas con el calendario gregoriano son dos, tanto con el formato CCYY MM DD, como con el formato DD MM CCYY. El primero se utiliza en nuestros sistemas automatizados de Patente y en los datos bibliográficos que siguen la norma ST.9, como, por ejemplo, para designar las fechas de publicación y de Solicitud de una Patente, con los códigos INID (43) y (22) respectivamente. El segundo se utiliza en los datos bibliográficos que se han transformado en XML en estándar ST.36 para el intercambio de información, y aparecen dichas fechas representadas gráficamente en las primeras páginas de los documentos PDF (ST 1.4 EPO) que se consultan en diversos sitios tales como en esp@cenet, esp@cenet-LATIPAT y PatentScope, entre otros.
