The expression "industrial designs" covers industrial designs and models. Offices which issue design patents should report their design patent information activities in this series of Annual Technical Reports.
In 2006 of procedure of filing of applications, carrying out of examination and granting of patents on industrial designs have remained constant.
Quantity of the filed applications for granting of patents on industrial designs in 2006 has made 69 applications and was practically kept at a level of the last year (70 applications).
The most part of applications are filed on following classes of the International Classification of Industrial Designs (ICID): 9th class (container, packing and containers) - 21 applications and 11th class (subjects of ornament) - 12 applications; on the specified classes 47,8 % from total of the filed applications are necessary.
In 2006 72 industrial designs are registered, that on 35,8 % is more, than in the past to year.

In 2006 official publications of the office on industrial designs joined in following editions:
• official bulletin «Rasmiy Ahborotnoma» - 6 issues (on CD-ROM);
• publication sheets to patents for industrial designs - 46 publication sheets (on a paper);
• collection of annual indexes to the official bulletin «Rasmiy Ahborotnoma» (section of the index on industrial designs) on the electronic carrier.
Data on the registered industrial designs are published in section «Industrial designs» of the official bulletin «Rasmiy Ahborotnoma» which from 2004 is issued on CD-ROM. Data on industrial designs includes bibliographic data and image. In 2006 in official bulletins data on 66 industrial designs are published.
The most important announcements, concerning activity of the office on industrial designs are placed in section "Communiques" of the bulletin «Rasmiy Ahborotnoma» and on the website of the office (www.patent.uz).
The SPO has a full collection of patent documents of Uzbekistan on industrial designs on a paper. Patent documents are stored also in bibliographic databases and in electronic storehouses.
During processing applications all the documents, concerning industrial designs, are scanned and kept as facsimile form in format TIFF. Descriptions and the list of essential attributes are recognized by system OCR and kept in format MS-Word. Images of industrial designs are entered in format JPG, by means of program Adobe PhotoShop.
Assembly of the chapter of the official bulletin on industrial designs is carried out in the automated mode on a workplace of the employee of the office of publication division. By specialized inquiry bibliographic data from a database (SUBD MS SQL Server 2000) are selected and sorted. The subsequent operations (page makeup, replication) are made by means of programs Word and Adobe Acrobat.

Applications for industrial designs are classified according to 8th edition of the International Classification of Industrial Designs (Locarno Agreement). Other classification systems are not applied.
Bibliographic data are kept in the form of dynamic XML - documents and in the internal database constructed on the basis of SUBD MS SQL Server 2000, which are maintained and updated during life cycle of the application by all departments involved in process. Changes in base will be authorized. Interfaces of access to base are constructed on the basis of Intranet-technologies.
The search file on a paper and optical disks is formed on the basis of collection of the State Fund of the Patent Documentation and includes materials on the industrial designs, 22 countries containing in foreign official bulletins, WIPO and the incorporated cumulative editions on the industrial designs, prepared by INIC Rospatent; is placed by a geographical principle. The retrospective part is presented by photograph collection of industrial designs.
Under national patent documents the bibliographic database and electronic file (text) storehouses for internal use are conducted.
Search files on a paper and a part on CD/DVD-ROM are updated monthly, some CDs/DVD-ROM are updated annually.
Bibliographic data and files of documents in electronic storehouse on national documents can replenish and/or be corrected in process of the reference.
Conditions of storage of fund depend mostly on kinds of data carriers: patent documents on a paper are stored in wall cases, photograph collection on microfilms - in boxes, on CD-ROM and DVD-ROM - in stores in wall cases.
Bases of bibliographic, office work data and file storehouse are stored on specialized a file-server on which with a view of safety reserve copying on an additional server is carried out.
In 2006 the State Fund of the Patent Documentation has replenished with the patent-information publications containing data on industrial designs, of 22 countries of the world and WIPO.
In a stage of operational testing there is Internal portal SPO which realizes functions of the patent-information search system, regulated statistics and is integrated with working system of document circulation and office-work SATOZ («Through automated technology of processing of applications»).
The following concern to popular databases most widely used by examiners on the Internet: Google, Rambler, Yahoo, and Yandex.
The full-function system of administration is in SATOZ, providing authorization, access to the information, safety, and management of the rights of users, groups and options of system.

Completes the patent information on industrial designs the State Fund of Patent documentation SPO which practically is a unique full collection of the patent documentation in territory of Uzbekistan and carries out patent-information service both examination stuff of the office, and the broad audience of the public, i.e. carries out functions of public library.
The collection of Fund includes patent bulletins with data on industrial designs of 24 countries, WIPO and cumulative collection INIC of Rospatent, including on CD-ROM disks - 9 countries and WIPO. The collection is placed on the countries and years. Acquisition is carried out on the international exchange, by way of a subscription and acquisition by own editions. The collection on microforms is located in basement storehouses, and on CD-ROM disks - in stores in wall cases.

Official bulletin SPO «Rasmiy Ahborotnoma» with data on the registered industrial designs by way of bilateral exchange is dispatched in patent offices of 27 countries, also to international organizations WIPO, EPO and EAPO regional organization.
Official bulletin of the SPO «Rasmiy Ahborotnoma» with data on the registered industrial designs on CD-ROM disks by way of bilateral exchange is sent in patent offices of 27 countries, EPO, WIPO and EAPO. On bilateral exchange in SPO in 2006 official bulletins with data on industrial designs from offices of 22 countries and WIPO (from them on 10 on CD-ROM disks), and also incorporated edition INIC of Rospatent "Industrial designs of foreign countries" have acted.
It is organized and lead together with WIPO the international regional seminar on trademarks and industrial designs on which the questions connected with advantages of the international systems of registration of trademarks and industrial designs at the decision of problems of development of national economy and the external economic cooperation were discussed, their legal registration for further use and popularization. Representatives WIPO, foreign patent offices of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Croatia, and also representatives of the state bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in work of seminar.
