The workshop will bring together inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs, as well as industry leaders, to discuss how IP is used as a strategic tool by businesses in their competitive strategies. Eight green technology companies PDF, Program from around the world have been mentored by WIPO’s IP experts in developing their corporate IP strategy.  During the workshop, our experts will analyze the business and IP management strategies of these companies and provide feedback on how the different options provided by the IP system can be used to make their products more competitive in the market.

Innovation and creativity is inherent in all of us, it has no race, color or gender.  WIPO’s mission is to create the necessary environment that allows innovation and creativity to thrive. Yet many inventors and innovators who have come up with a new product idea, a compelling solution to a pressing societal problem or an improved process that lowers cost struggle to come to grips with the IP system and successfully bring their product to market. They make early mistakes that prove fatal or are quickly overtaken by imitators.  We try to support entrepreneurs with information and tools to allow them to make the best decisions for the success of their venture.  This workshop is one such effort to build knowledge and awareness on IP management as well as to develop tools that will support entrepreneurs use the IP system for the success of their ventures.
