Conforme la normativa citada la abreviatura recomendada de la Clasificación de Viena en los boletines de marcas y en los certificados será “CFE”. Se recomienda que los elementos figurativos de las marcas que se hayan clasificado de conformidad con una edición determinada de la Clasificación de Viena lleven una indicación de dicha edición en forma de un número arábigo entre paréntesis después de la abreviatura. Por ejemplo, para elementos figurativos clasificados de conformidad con la tercera edición de la Clasificación de Viena, la abreviatura recomendada es “CFE”. Para efectos de la aplicación de la norma se requiere levantar información de los signos figurativos se trabajará conjuntamente con el departamento de tecnología del SENADI para viabilizar su implementación en el futuro.

En el IMPI se realiza la clasificación de Viena para los elementos figurativos y se publica en el Sistema de Marcas en Línea, siendo esta clasificación identificada nominalmente en un cuadro respectivo. Se ha planteado la importancia de integrar este campo con las recomendaciones del estándar con su respectivo Código CFE ( n ) en las Gacetas de la Propiedad Industrial como parte suplementaria a los códigos INID, lo cual no está integrado por el momento.
