I. GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN INFORMATION ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE

The registration process followed by the Cyprus Office does not include a novelty search, but examiners are able to raise objections against any application if their knowledge is such that they are aware the design is not new.  The Ptolemy system is used for the administration and issuing of Certificates and letters related to design applications.

Paper files are kept until and after registration, containing all relevant information.

Publications of designs are available on paper and online at the Government Printing Office and the Office's website.

Official Gazettes: main types of announcements, frequency of publication, medium (on paper, on CDs, online - URL), etc.

Designs are published in the weekly Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus, produced in paper and electronic form; contains design illustrations, bibliographic details, as well as the proprietor, agent and the Locarno class.

IV. ICT SUPPORT TO SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES RELATED TO INDUSTRIAL DESIGN INFORMATION CARRIED OUT BY THE OFFICE
