Currently, the Standard is used for XML processing in a patent office proceeding, in electronic registers of all types of trademark information and for electronic exchange with WIPO under the Madrid System. It should be noted that the Standard does not provide the possibility to describe all the fcases of the Russian office proceeding, so the national extensions are used. Extensions are also used for electronic exchange with WIPO under the Madrid System.
