La Oficina de Patentes de Colombia cuenta con un sistema donde se publica periódicamente de manera digital el boletín oficial o Gaceta de Propiedad Industrial (para Colombia), por lo tanto, algunas disposiciones alusivas a la portada del boletín no se aplican; una diferencia sustancial es la denominación de “modelo o dibujo”, para el caso la norma aplicable (Decisión 486 de la Comunidad Andina) habla de Diseños Industriales; la publicación incluye más de un dibujo del mismo diseño, sin embargo estos no se enumeran de manera consecutiva tal como lo señala el numeral 11 de la recomendación; el numeral 13 que trata del orden de los diseños en la publicación no se aplica, el orden de la publicación se da conforme al momento o tiempo en el que se envía a publicar por parte del examinador; el boletín o gaceta publica las decisiones tomadas por la corte (Consejo de Estado), más no suscripciones o cualquier otra información (14); el boletín no define ni explica los códigos INID que allí aparecen (15); el índice es reemplazado por algunos criterios de búsqueda, tales como: fecha de la publicación por rangos, dominio (Diseño Industrial, Patente, Signos Distintivos), número de solicitud, solicitante, número de gaceta y apoderado (16); al ser digital, no incluye lo previsto en el numeral 18, 19; no se notifica con anticipación al usuario sobre las modificaciones en el contenido del boletín (21).

Los dibujos y diseños industriales son publicados en la Gaceta de Patentes, Registros de Modelos de Utilidad y Diseños Industriales, el contenido en su mayoría cumple con el estándar, con excepción de la identificación del código de la oficina (MX) que publica la Gaceta, y la fecha de emisión de acuerdo al estándar ST.2. Se discutirá la importancia de reintegrar los índices para beneficio de los usuarios
