WIPO GREEN Technology Fair in collaboration with CARICOM

COMPLETED January 20-23, 2016 (St George's, Grenada)

A "Waste to Energy Technology Expo" (hosted by WIPO and other partners), will take place from January 20 – 23, 2016 in St. Georges, Grenada.

The Technology Expo will showcase technologies that are likely to play a major role in addressing the waste-to-energy challenges faced by small island states in the Caribbean with the potential to be deployed in the waste-to-energy projects currently under preparation in the region. The Expo and Conference will be opened by the Prime Minister of Grenada and Ministers from the region, as well as top level waste-to-energy decision makers from approximately 15 Caribbean nations.

The following organizations are involved with organizing the event:

  • the CARICOM Secretariat;
  • the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH;
  • Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC)/SIDS DOCK;
  • the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB);
  • the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO);
  • the Swedish Energy Agency (SEA);
  • the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); and
  • the Clinton Foundation Climate Initiative (CCI).
