Manila Seminar to showcase WIPO GREEN wastewater treatment pilot project

March 23, 2015

On 23 and 24 April, 2015 a seminar will take place at the Asian Development Bank’s HQ in Manila (Philippines), dedicated to WIPO GREEN’s pilot project on wastewater treatment in South-East Asia. Participants will discuss the project, share experiences, and be able to proactively network with one another.

Thanks to a grant from the Government of Japan, WIPO GREEN is currently running a pilot project on wastewater treatment in Indonesia, Viet Nam, and the Philippines. The project involves local consultants working in tandem with relevant stakeholders (industry associations, government institutions, university bodies, technology companies, and financial institutions) to identify needs for wastewater technologies in these countries. Once the technology needs are identified, WIPO GREEN then works to find corresponding technology providers, who are invited to upload their technologies to the WIPO GREEN database.

Technology seekers, technology owners, and relevant stakeholders from the financial and regulatory sphere are all invited to attend the seminar. Organized in cooperation with the ADB, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), and the Japan Patent Office, the event will serve not only as a chance to discuss the project, but also as an opportunity to directly match technology seekers with technology owners.
