WIPO GREEN and FLC Partner on Green Tech

November 13, 2017

WIPO and the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) have entered into a data-sharing agreement that will further enrich the WIPO GREEN database. Through this agreement, the FLC has uploaded hundreds of green technologies from U.S. federal laboratories into the database, giving WIPO GREEN users easy access to a more diverse range of technologies.

The FLC’s latest tool, FLC Business, contains over 15,000 technologies available for licensing from federal labs, as well as valuable information pertaining to funding, programs, facilities and equipment, and laboratory profiles. WIPO GREEN has selected hundreds of the most relevant green technologies from the FLC dataset and added them to the WIPO GREEN database. Most of these technologies are available for licensing or research collaborations.

“The WIPO GREEN data-sharing agreement is an exciting venture for the FLC that directly aligns with our mission to promote the groundbreaking technologies that are being developed and are available for licensing or collaborative partnership at our federal labs. The FLC Business datastore is vast and is always being updated with new techs. Through this agreement, we’ll be able to provide eager entrepreneurs and inventors the opportunity to search and find the latest green technologies in one location, with access to the additional information they need to eventually disrupt the market,” explained a spokesperson from FLC.

Together, the substantial increase in the number of green technologies and overall network growth represent a major stride toward WIPO GREEN’s mission to facilitate green technology innovation, transfer and dissemination around the world.
