Green Tech Opportunity: Startup Booster by Russia’s Leading Innovation Hub Skolkovo

The Skolkovo Foundation, Russia’s leading innovation hub, has recently launched the Green Tech Startup Booster, an initiative aiming to promote the implementation of green technologies across key industries, thereby contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The program supports startups and companies offering environmentally friendly solutions to business challenges by matching them with mentoring and collaboration opportunities with entities in industry, science and governmental sectors.

WIPO GREEN is proud to be an international partner of the Green Tech Startup Booster, alongside with the Knowledge and Innovation Community Climate-KIC, the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN). The project is also supported by the Moscow Agency of Innovations, MSP Bank, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry of the Russian Federation, and the Russian Carbon Fund, among other organizations.

Participating in the Green Tech Startup Booster

To participate in the Startup Booster and engage with the project’s corporate partners, such as Total, Enel, EDF, Sibur, Gazpromneft, Tatneft, NLMK, Severstal, TMK and Helyx, eligible companies are invited to showcase a green technology or product meeting the below criteria:

  • Presently at the completed prototype stage or beyond
  • Classified in one of the following six categories: clean water, clean air, clean land, clean energy, environmental monitoring, humans and the environment
  • Ready for implementation within one year, at minimum as part of a pilot project

The Green Tech Startup Booster provides the following opportunities:

  • Implementation of a pilot project with one of the corporate partners in 2021
  • Rapid market entry in Russia and beyond
  • Mentoring by leading scientific and business experts
  • Direct interaction with senior decision-makers in large corporations
  • Possibility to attract investment

Participation in the Startup Booster is free of charge. Applications are due to Skolkovo Foundation by October 3, 2020; please inform us if you apply.
