What should you expect from WIPO GREEN during COP26?
The 26th Conference of the Parties (COP), running from October 31 until November 12, will bring together governments from across the world to collectively agree on measures to limit the global average temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The negotiations are expected to call for drastic measures to tackle climate action, in line with the Paris Agreement. This year, WIPO GREEN will co-host and participate in several side events during COP26. Here’s what you can anticipate.
IPO GREEN is teaming up with the UNFCCC Global Innovation Hub (UGIH) at COP26 to share our approach to supporting innovation and green technology for climate action. We invite you to join us at the UNFCCC pavilion at the session on Innovation for Climate and SDGs at the UN.
WIPO GREEN will present at the UNFCCC Pavilion on 4 November
WIPO GREEN will co-host a side event with the International Chamber of Commerce on 9 November
WIPO GREEN will co-host a session along with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) on ICC’s virtual platform “Make Climate Action Everyone’s Business”. The session will explore the links between IP and sustainability and unpack the role of innovation in reaching climate goals.
WIPO GREEN will help to celebrate the ICC’s SME360X
WIPO GREEN co-host ICC has recently launched the SME360X, a digital assessment tool that generates and estimates a sustainability score for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). This is an initiative to measure and value their impact on the environment.
As always, we encourage all to browse through the WIPO GREEN database to explore green technologies and to join WIPO GREEN side events at COP26. We look forward to engaging with you!
