Africa is host to a fast-growing community of innovators creating climate-smart and sustainable solutions in sectors like agriculture, energy, water and waste management. However, many face difficulties scaling up due to limited visibility, funding challenges and difficulty connecting with partners and markets, which can restrict their overall impact.
The WIPO GREEN Database of Innovative Technologies and Needs serves as a vital connector in this innovation ecosystem. It is a free, solutions-oriented global platform that links environmental and climate-related needs with concrete technological solutions, while offering matchmaking opportunities and access to an international network.
The webinar, “African Green Innovation: Leveraging the WIPO GREEN Platform for Sustainable Solutions” will spotlight African green innovations and showcase climate-smart technologies from across the continent. It will also feature innovators listed in the WIPO GREEN database who will present practical and scalable solutions designed to address pressing environmental and development challenges.
The event comes at an important moment as preparations gather pace towards COP32 in Ethiopia, creating new opportunities to strengthen collaboration, raise the profile of African innovators and accelerate the dissemination of sustainable technologies across the continent.
The webinar will be conducted in English, with French interpretation. It is open to all individuals interested in green and sustainable technologies and will be accessible worldwide.
