Watch: IP and Innovation for MSMEs

March 8, 2021

Watch the recording of an online discussion on innovation and intellectual property (IP) for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), organized by the WTO Friends of IP and Innovation Group.

On March 9, 2021, WIPO GREEN participated in an online event “Making MSMEs Competitive through IP and Innovation — Supporting MSMEs, Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Green Technology”. The panel discussions addressed how IP and innovation can enable MSMEs to develop green technologies for a sustainable economy, especially in LDCs and Low- and Middle-income Countries (LMICs).

This highly experienced panel of speakers addressed important points of consideration for both MSMEs and policymakers, including:

  • How can MSMEs develop an effective IP strategy in the green technology sector?
  • How to raise the awareness of green tech MSMEs about the benefits of IP for their business activity?
  • What are examples of practices and experiences in developing partnerships for the diffusion of green tech innovation?
