Offer your green solution at the UN Food Systems Summit

April 20, 2021

Relevant “game changing and systemic solutions” are sought through the UN Food Systems Summit until April 30, 2021.

The Summit is part of the Sustainable Development Goals process and has the objective to transform the way the world produces, consumes and thinks about food. The Summit will bring together key players from the worlds of science, business, policy, healthcare and academia, as well as farmers, indigenous people, youth organizations, consumer groups, environmental activists, and other key stakeholders. It is very solutions-oriented.

The Summit organizers define a “game changing and systemic solution” as a feasible action that would shift operational models or underlying rules, incentives, and structures that shape food systems, to advance global goals in a sustainable manner. The key criteria for a game changing, systemic solution are:

  • impact potential at scale (incl. return on investment);
  • actionability (politics, capacity, costs);
  • sustainability (the ability to keep delivering to 2030 and beyond).

The process is guided by five Action Tracks (AT). You can suggest your solution until April 30, 2021, through a public survey, with the most relevant for the WIPO GREEN users being AT2 Shift to sustainable consumption patterns, for AT3 Boost nature-positive production, and for AT5 Build resilience to vulnerabilities, shock and stress.

If you are planning to submit your solution, please let us know.
