Join the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), in partnership with WIPO, in a set of thought-provoking discussions dealing with key intellectual property issues affecting the global business community on July 18, 2022.
In the framework of WIPO’s 63rd Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States, the main policy and decision-making bodies of the Organization, the ICC, a WIPO GREEN Partner, will host three roundtables bringing together speakers from the business community, international organizations, and experts in IP and innovation.

A first roundtable will delve into the role of intellectual property in achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Speakers, including Peter Oksen, Green Technology and Research Manager at WIPO GREEN, will focus particularly on the often-understated role of IP as a facilitator of green innovations in the fight against climate change.
The second roundtable will bring the importance of SME innovation to the forefront. The conversation will deal with the relevance of these enterprises to the global innovation ecosystem.
A third roundtable will close the event by targeting the important question of IP-backed finance. The conversation will build on the fact that IP-backed financing remains underutilized worldwide despite the urgent need.
The ICC is the institutional representative of more than 45 million companies in over 100 countries. Attendance to this side event will be available exclusively in a virtual format.
